Core Beliefs

We humbly assert the following core beliefs of The Way of Yahweh.  These are the doctrines (i.e. teachings) given to the body of Messiah by the Holy Spirit through Yahweh’s Word and which must be obeyed and applied to the life of each believer.

 (1) We believe the name of salvation is “Yahweh(Shua)”.  There is only one name that is excellent, exalted, above every name, and by which we must be saved.  We do not believe that the name of salvation is “Jesus Christ”, “Yah’shua”, or “Yeshua”. We define salvation as receiving the inheritance (everything that the Father has) and being able to enter the gates of New Jerusalem where Yahweh and the Lamb reside.  Salvation for believers in this age and ages past includes being Priest and Kings with Messiah during His 1,000-year reign on earth.

(2) We believe that the Almighty’s personal name is “Yahweh”.  Yahweh exists, is eternal, the holy creator of the universe, and giver of life and breath to all.  Yahweh is the only Sovereign and King worthy of worship.  To distinguish between the Father and the Son, we use Yahweh the Father and Yahweh Messiah or YahwehShua (Yahweh is Salvation) for the Son.  Messiah’s name while a man on this earth was Yah’shua.   The Almighty’s name is not “God” or “The LORD” and His Son’s name is not “Jesus”.

Should we exclusively use the name Yahweh for the Almighty?”, “Names and Titles”, “The Name of Inheritanceby George Gabler (see kahalyahweh.net), andThe Great Riddle - What is the Son's Glorified Name?

(3) We believe the Evangel as stated in 1 Corinthians 15.  It is the Good News about Messiah and His coming kingdom (see Mark 1:14-15 and Matthew 4:23 & 24:14).

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the evangel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that (a) Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures; (b) And that he was buried, and (c) that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

A convert applies the above Evangel to his or her life by obeying (see 2 Thessalonians 1:18, 1 Peter 4:17, Romans 10:16, and Acts 5:32) Yahweh’s three-part salvation plan set forth by the Apostle Peter in Acts 2:38 and outlined below.  Why follow the Apostle Peter?  Because he was given the keys to the kingdom by Messiah in Matthew 16:19.  The three parts of the salvation plan parallel the three parts of the Evangel as stated above in 1 Corinthians 15 with the believer’s repentance symbolizing Messiah’s death, the believer’s water baptism symbolizing Messiah’s burial, and the believer’s spiritual baptism symbolizing Messiah’s resurrection.  A one-time mental belief in whatever name you want to call the Almighty will not give you salvation.   Neither will a dramatic emotional display.

a.  Repentance – A change in behavior from following our flesh, Satan, and the world to being obedient to Yahweh’s Commandments.

How do you know that you are sinning?

b.  Water Baptism – Full immersion in a body of water, with a confession of faith, and in the name of YahwehShua. Water baptism is an essential part of the salvation plan.  It remits (i.e. removes) the convert’s sin and prepares him/her for the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Does a believer need to be water baptized for salvation?

c.  Infilling of the Holy Spirit or Spirit Baptism – This is when the believer receives the earnest of his inheritance and is accomplished by the laying on of hands by the Elders.

Laying on of Hands

(4) We believe that a Holy Spirit-filled believer can fall away (i.e. quench the Holy Spirit – 1 Thessalonians 5:19) and must endure to the end by keeping Yahweh’s commandments in order to spend eternity with Yahweh and His Lamb inside the gates of New Jerusalem.  We don’t believe in “Once saved, always saved.”

Satan’s Great Lie: Once Saved, Always Saved

(5) We believe that saints in this age and ages past will not receive their promise of glorification until Messiah’s Second Coming and the rest of the dead will not be resurrected until the 1,000-year reign of Messiah on earth is finished.  We do not believe that saints who die go immediately to “heaven” and those who die without Messiah go immediately to an eternal “hell”.

Do we have an Immortal Soul?

(6) We believe the 1,000-year reign of Messiah is a future time on Earth.  Believers of this age and past ages will rule with Messiah in His earthly kingdom as Priests and Kings and are called “The Firstfruits” after Messiah YahwehShua.

The Reward

(7) We believe in an age, sometimes referred to as “The Last Great Day”, which occurs after the 1,000-year reign of Messiah when the rest of the dead are resurrected to physical flesh-and-blood life and receive the Holy Spirit.  Those not glorified at Messiah’s Second Coming (as described above in #6) and who have not quenched the Holy Spirit in a previous age will be given a chance to repent and obey Yahweh’s commandments.  If they repent and obey Yahweh’s commandments they will have the right to enter the gates of New Jerusalem and live eternally with Yahweh and His Lamb.

 “The Last Great Day

(8) We believe that the final judgment day called in the Scriptures “The Great White Throne Judgment” takes place at the end of “The Last Great Day”, just before the coming of the New Heavens and Earth.  The final judgment of the house of Yahweh (i.e. current believers) starts during this age and concludes at the end of this same age.  Current believers will not need to be further judged since they will no longer be able to sin once they are glorified at the end of this age.

 “The Last Great Day

(9) We believe that all things in Heaven and Earth that were ever created by Yahweh will be reconciled to Him in the New Heavens and Earth, where there will be no more crying, sorrow, pain, nor memory of former things.  We do not believe that Yahweh is a “terrorist” who relegates His disobedient  creation to an eternal punishment or permanent death.  Those who repent and obey will have the right to enter the gates of New Jerusalem where Yahweh and the Lamb reside.  Outside the gates of New Jerusalem is where the unrepentant spend eternity.

The Lake of Fire is temporary punishment for those who refuse to repent and obey and not in the New Heavens and Earth.  We believe that Yahweh is an omnipotent, loving, and merciful Almighty and His plan for the ages is that life triumphs over death and mercy triumphs over judgment.

Yahweh’s Supreme Love - Reconciliation

(10) We believe in obeying Yahweh’s torah ("law"), covenant Ten Commandments, and all of the Almighty’s commandments.  Under the New Covenant, Yahweh's law and commandments have not been abolished with Messiah death, burial, and resurrection, but have been modified, magnified, and put into our hearts and minds.

"Was the Law Abolished with Messiah?"

(11) And as just mentioned in #10, we believe The Fourth Commandment instructs us to keep the Seventh-Day Sabbath which Yahweh instituted at the creation of the world (Genesis 2:2-3).  Yahweh’s Seventh-Day Sabbath will be kept until the New Heavens and Earth.  We do not believe that the Seventh-Day Sabbath became obsolete after Messiah’s resurrection because He “fulfilled” it.   The Law has been confirmed by Messiah, is spiritual, and again will not be done away with until the New Heavens and Earth.

 “The Fourth Commandment

(12) And as with the Seventh-Day Sabbath, we also believe that Yahweh’s Holy Days found in Leviticus 23 are to be observed, reflect the plan of salvation, reflect Yahweh’s plan of the ages, and will not be obsolete until the New Heavens and Earth.

Passover and Easter”, “Hag Hamatzot - Feast of Unleavened Bread” (including “FirstFruits - Yom Habikkurim” and “The Night to be Much Observed”), “Pentecost (Hag Shabuwa)”, “Yom Teruah…Day of Shouting”, “Yom Kippur – Day of Atonement”, “Feast of Tabernacles (Hag Sukkot)”, and “The Last Great Day

(13)  And as with the Seventh-Day Sabbath and Holy Days found in Leviticus 23, Yahweh commands us to keep His food laws in Leviticus 11.  Yahweh’s food laws help us distinguish between the clean and unclean and holy and unholy.

What’s for Dinner? Yahweh's Food Laws”

(14)  We believe the Yahweh Elohim family consists of Yahweh the Father, Yahweh the Son, and believers.  The Holy Spirit is the power of Yahweh Mighty Ones (Father and Son) and not a person at all.  We do not believe that the Almighty is a Trinity (one being, three “persons” who are co-equal).  The Almighty is not one being, nor co-equal persons, and the Holy Spirit is again not a person.  It is evident that the Father and Son are “One” in spirit, character, and purpose and expressed in the Shema:  “Hear, O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim is Yahweh United (or One)”.   Messiah said “I and my Father are United (or One)”.

 “Yahweh Elohim = Trinity?

(15) We believe that the human soul is not inherently immortal.   The human soul is not immortal because “this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15).  This means that at a future time Yahweh will give all mortal souls immortality.  But at this current time we are mortal and can die.

Do we have an Immortal Soul?

(16) We believe that Yahweh the Father has never been seen nor heard by any man and lives in unapproachable light.  Therefore, the Yahweh who was both seen and heard in the Hebrew Old Testament Scriptures, the King and Savior of Israel, the Dabar (i.e. Word) Yahweh is Messiah the Son.

The Great Riddle -What is the Son's Glorified Name?

(17) We believe the purpose of human existence is to become just like Yahweh!  Mankind is made in His image for the express purpose of being like Him, through YahwehShua Messiah, sharing eternity through the power of the resurrection of the dead.

 “The Reward

(18) We believe that Yahweh has given humanity free will.  Each person is solely responsible for his or her life and is accountable when he or she is called by Yahweh.  Therefore it is incumbent upon each individual to search the Holy Scriptures proving all things, studying, praying daily, as well as meditating and fasting occasionally.  We also understand that anyone from any race or national origin may come to Yahweh, that none are prohibited, and all will be accepted in the Body of Messiah who choose to obey Yahweh and His commandments.

 “The Called, Chosen, and Faithful”

(19) We believe that it is not acceptable to muzzle women in the assembly.  Although women are allowed to share prophecy, prayers, and Scriptures, women do not have teaching authority and cannot become Elders.  Women may teach under the authority of elders or a husband.

Women’s Role in the Kahal” and “Yahweh’s Divine Authority Structure

(20) We believe that we must worship the Almighty in Spirit and Truth.  Also, the Scriptures teach that “no lie is of the truth”.  This means that even one lie in a body of doctrine necessitates rejecting the entire doctrine.  It is clear that Yahweh does not want true believers to obey doctrine taught by religious leaders and man-made traditions if it is not 100% accurate to the Scriptures.

Should you hold fast to the traditions of your religious organization?

(21) We believe that the Holy Spirit will lead one into all truth and righteousness through the Word of Yahweh.  There is nothing in the Scriptures which indicates religious leaders and organizations will lead saints into all truth and righteousness.  In fact there are warnings all over the Scriptures about false doctrine taught by religious leaders and organizations.  1 John 2:27 tells us we need no teacher but the Holy Spirit.

 Understanding the Holy Scriptures

(22) We believe in translator bias in our English Bibles.   All English Bibles are translations from copied manuscripts of the Old Testament (Hebrew) and New Testament (Greek).   Anyone who has studied from the Old Testament Hebrew or New Testament Greek can clearly see translator bias. The original Scriptures are the inspired Word of Yahweh, not the translated English Bibles.
