Yahweh Elohim = Trinity?
The vast majority of Christians consider the doctrine of the trinity to be divine truth and a foundation of their faith. You will get a great negative response from a trinity believer if you say you do not believe in the trinity. The doctrine of the trinity is considered so sacred and fundamental that many groups view it as a litmus test for defining who is and isn’t a true believer.
What does Yahweh say about accepting any doctrine? It is clear we need to study the Scriptures daily to see if these things be so, we must rightly divide the Word, and we must prove all things.
Acts 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto Yahweh, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of Yahweh.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
With that in mind, we will spend a lot of time in the Scriptures to see if the doctrine of the trinity is biblical. But before we delve into Scriptures, what is the doctrine of the trinity and how long has it been around?
The word “trinity” comes from the Latin noun “trinitas” meaning “three are one.” This definition of the word does not give us the full doctrine of the trinity. If you are looking for one definition used by all Christianity, there is none. You would believe that this most important doctrine would be defined uniformly throughout Christianity, but it isn’t.
The most widely accepted definition of the trinity expresses the belief that “Gd” (or “GdHead”) is one Being (or essence) made up of three distinct Persons (“One Gd in three persons”) who exist in a co-equal, co-eternal communion as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
How did we get the doctrine of the trinity? You would think we could open our Bibles and find the word “trinity” or “three in one” or “three persons” or “one being”, but there are no such Scriptures.
There seems to be an overwhelming amount of historical evidence that the trinity concept was first implemented during the third century during the Council of Nicea and confirmed at the end of the Council of Constantinople close to the fourth century. This was 300 years after Messiah was crucified and approximately 250 years since the last Apostle died.
Over the ages it has been stated by many Christians that the trinity is a mystery of the faith. Is Yahweh the author of confusion? Can the Holy Spirit lead us into the deep things of Yahweh? Should any doctrine be a mystery?
1 Corinthians 14:33 For Yahweh is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all assemblies of the saints.
1 Corinthians 2:10 But Yahweh hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of Yahweh. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of Yahweh knoweth no man, but the Spirit of Yahweh. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of Yahweh; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of Yahweh. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of Yahweh: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
So according to the Scriptures, the doctrine of the trinity should not be a mystery to those who have the Holy Spirit!
The first problem with the doctrine of the trinity is the lack of Scriptures which directly support this doctrine. There is no proof text. Is the word trinity in the Scriptures? No. Is there a Scripture that states the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one being? No. There are Scriptures which talk about the Father and Son (and sometimes believers) being one, but not one being. There are plenty of Scriptures that refute that the Father and Son are co-equal, showing clearly that the Son is subordinate and obedient to the Father. And there are many Scriptures which clearly show that the Holy Spirit is not a separate person but the power of the Father and the Son. Lastly, trinity language such as “one in three”, “three in one”, and “Gd in three persons” is not in the Scriptures.
What this article will focus on and what I will show scripturally is the following:
- That the Holy Spirit is the power of the Father and Son and not a distinct person.
- That when the Scriptures discuss the concept of one, it is not one being, but one in character and purpose.
- That believers are part of the Yahweh Elohim (Mighty Ones) family and that the Yahweh Elohim family will consist of more than just the Father and the Son.
- That the Son is subordinate to the Father, making them not “co-equal”.
1. Is the Holy Spirit a separate person, co-equal to the Father and Son or is the Holy Spirit the power of Yahweh? Let us review many Scriptures which clearly show that the Holy Spirit is the power of the Father and not a separate person.
Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of Yahweh.
Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Micah 3:8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of Yahweh, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
Romans 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of Yahweh; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the evangel of Messiah.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of Yahweh unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith Yahweh of hosts.
The Holy Spirit is the power of Yahweh and proceeds from the Father to dwell in believers.
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Sovereign YahwehShua Messiah, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of Yahweh, and that the Spirit of Yahweh dwelleth in you?
Ephesians 4:6 One Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
These Scriptures make it clear that the Holy Spirit is the power of the Highest, not a separate person. Plus trinity believers have the problem explaining that if the Holy Spirit is a separate person and impregnated Mary (Luke 1:35), then the Holy Spirit would be the Father of Messiah!
Let us look at some parallel Scriptures which reinforce that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father Himself, not the third person as claimed by Trinitarians. These Scriptures are in Mark and Matthew when Yah’shua gives specific instructions to his apostles. Notice the identical instructions in the two verses.
Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Matthew is writing about the same thing as Mark, but notice that the “Holy Spirit” in Mark is described as the “Spirit of your Father” in Matthew. This shows that the Holy Spirit is the Father’s Spirit and not a third person in his own right.
And not only is the Holy Spirit the power of the Father it is also the power of the Son.
Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please Elohim. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of Elohim dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Messiah, he is none of his. 10 And if Messiah be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Yah’shua from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Messiah from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his (Messiah’s) Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, Yahweh hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Philippians 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Messiah is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of YahwehShua Messiah,
It is clear that when Messiah said “I go to prepare a room for you in my Fathers mansion” and that “I will never leave you nor forsake you”, He could do both simultaneously because the Holy Spirit is also the power of the Son.
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
The Spirit of Messiah is formed in believers out of the Spirit given by the Father. The Spirit is not only the power of the Father, but the power of the Son, yet the same Spirit.
Galatians 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Messiah be formed in you,
Let us take a different route. Who is the comforter? It is from the Greek word “parakletos”. Let us look at a few Scriptures which use the Greek word “parakletos”.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (parakletos), that he may abide with you for ever;
Is this parakletos ever identified?
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate (parakletos) with the Father, YahwehShua Messiah the righteous:
We have the Spirit of the Father. We have the Spirit of Messiah. So if the Holy Spirit is a separate person, surely we would have the Spirit of the Holy Spirit. Yet there is no such thing mentioned in the Scriptures. It is nonsense.
There is only one Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:4 and 1 Corinthians 12:13) and through the power of the Holy Spirit, Yahweh Elohim (Mighty Ones) is present everywhere at once throughout the universe, doing His will.
Psalm 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
What about when the text ascribes words like “he” to describe the Holy Spirit? Doesn’t that prove the Holy Spirit is a person?
The Greek syntax ascribes masculine/feminine/neutral genders to objects based on activity or passivity. Therefore if a neutral gender is put in context of some type of action, like speaking, the Greek requires a masculine reference. Hence the use of a masculine reference like “he” when describing the Holy Spirit.
Over 150 times in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit is referred to as gender- neutral. An example is in Romans 8:16, which says, “the Spirit itself (not himself) beareth witness with our spirit….or Romans 8:26 says “the Spirit itself (again not himself) maketh intercessions for us…or John 1:32 “And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it (not he) abode upon him”.
Now if the Holy Spirit were actually a person, that would be equivalent to calling him IT more than 150 times! Nowhere in the Bible are the gender of the Father and the Son neutral.
Another interesting fact is that Yahweh the Father and Messiah are consistently compared to human beings in form and shape. The Holy Spirit, however, is given impersonal attributes and is represented as breath (John 10:22), wind (Acts 2:2), fire (Acts 2:3), water (John 4:14, 7:37-39) and as a dove (Matthew 3:16). It is referred to as a gift (Acts 10:45; 1 Timothy 4:14), can be quenched (1 Thessalonians 5:19), and can be poured out on people (Acts 2:17, 33). People can drink of it (John 7:37-39), partake of it (Hebrew 6:4), believers can be filled with it (Acts 2:4, Ephesians 5:18), it renews believers (Titus 3:5), and must be stirred up within believers (2 Timothy 1:6).
But some say the Holy Spirit must be a person based on Scriptural passages describing the Holy Spirit engaging in personal activities. Does this mean the Holy Spirit is a distinct person? One cannot make this assumption since personification is used throughout the Bible, that is, non-personal things are described in personal ways.
Genesis 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Psalm 65:13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
Isaiah 49:13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for Yahweh hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Messiah down from above:).
Let’s take a look at another angle on why the Holy Spirit cannot be a separate person. If the trinity defines the Almighty as “one being” consisting of three distinct persons, why is the Holy Spirit over and over left out in key Scriptures? And there are a lot of key Scriptures that exclude the Holy Spirit!
Luke 10:21 In that hour Yah’shua rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Sovereign of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
John 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
John 14:6 Yah’shua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Sovereign, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Yah’shua saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
John 14:23 Yah’shua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son YahwehShua Messiah.
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that YahwehShua is the Messiah? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also .
2 John 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Messiah, hath not Yahweh. He that abideth in the doctrine of Messiah, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one Elohim, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Sovereign YahwehShua Messiah, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of Elohim, and of the Father, and of Messiah;
Additionally, it is amazing that in the New Heavens and Earth, the Father and Son are mentioned, but there is no mention of the Holy Spirit! Surely if the Holy Spirit were the third person in a trinity it would be mentioned with the Father and the Son in the New Heavens and Earth!!!!
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for Yahweh El Shaddai and the Lamb are the temple of it.
Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of Yahweh and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of Yahweh and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Lastly, if the Holy Spirit were the third person in the trinity, surely Paul, who was taught directly by the resurrected YahwehShua (Galatians 1:11-17) would have acknowledged the Holy Spirit with his greeting used in the New Testament. Over and over with only minor variations, Paul’s greeting “Grace to you and peace from Yahweh our Father and the Sovereign YahwehShua the Messiah” excludes mentioning the Holy Spirit (Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:2, Galatians 1:3, Ephesians 1:2, Philippians 1:2, Colossians 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 1:1, 2 Thessalonians 1:1-2, 1 Timothy 1:2, 2 Timothy 1:2, Titus 1:4, and Philemon 3). That is thirteen greetings snubbing the third person of the trinity!
2. Let’s continue to take a look at the definition of the trinity. Is Yahweh Mighty Ones one being? The understanding of what “one” means in Scriptures is critical. It is confusing in that people believe “one” means “one being”. This is not true, because Yahweh through his Word uses parallel Scriptures on oneness with a husband and wife in marriage. They still remain two separate beings joined together in marriage as one FAMILY unit.
Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Messiah and the kahal.
Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Matthew 19: 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore Yahweh hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
1 Corinthians 6:16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Sovereign is one spirit.
The oneness in Scriptures is also described in the analogy of one body. There are many members, but only one body.
Romans 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Messiah, and every one members one of another.
1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Messiah. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Here is another interesting Scripture in Judges, where the congregation came out as one man. There were many people, but all were of one mind, as if they spoke as one man.
Judges 20:1 Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto Yahweh in Mizpeh.
It is clear from the above Scriptures that when the Bible talks about being one, it is not talking about one being, but being one in the sense of purpose and character, working together in perfect harmony.
3. Are believers part of the Yahweh Elohim (Mighty Ones) family making the FAMILY more than the Father and the Son? I previously underlined John 14:20-23 and 17:21-23 (also see Hebrew 2:11). Clearly believers are one just as the Father and Son are one, linked together by the Holy Spirit. With that in mind, the concept of Yahweh Elohim being a FAMILY starts to come into focus.
Did you know that the whole family is named after Yahweh? And we were created in the Father and Son’s image?
Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Sovereign YahwehShua Messiah, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
Genesis 1:26 And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 3:22 And Yahweh Elohim said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
And that he wants to bring many sons to glory. Therefore Yahweh’s ultimate plan is to join a vast multitude with the Father and the Son, becoming like the Father and the Son.
Hebrew 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of Yahweh, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of Yahweh.
Colossians 3:4 When Messiah, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
It is clear….believers will become Mighty Ones. Part of the Yahweh Elohim (Mighty Ones) family!
Psalm 82:6 I have said, Ye are elohims (i.e. mighty ones); and all of you are children of the most High.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Continuing with the concept that Yahweh Elohim (Mighty Ones) is a family, the Scriptures over and over state that believers are sons (and daughters) of Yahweh.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of Yahweh, they are the sons of Yahweh.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his Elohim, and he shall be my son.
2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith Yahweh, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith Yahweh Almighty.
Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of Yahweh by faith in Messiah YahwehShua. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah.
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, Yahweh hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
And not only sons and daughters of Yahweh, but JOINT HEIRS with Messiah. Remember, Scriptures state that the servants (saints) are no greater than His master (Messiah).
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of Yahweh: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of Yahweh, and joint-heirs with Messiah; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his master doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his master.
Indeed the trinity denies one of the greatest truths we can know…that Yahweh is a growing FAMILY and that we can become a part of that family.
4. Directly from Scriptures, we see that Yahweh the Father is the undisputed head of the Family and that the Father and Son are not co-equal in authority as claimed by the doctrine of the trinity.
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
Yah’shua distinguished between his own will and the Father’s, yet submitted to the will of the Father. This clearly shows there are two beings with one being subordinate to the other.
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Isaiah 50:5 Yahweh Elohim hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
1 Corinthians 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that Yahweh may be all in all.
If the Father and the Son are co-equal in authority, why did Yah’shua say “my Father is greater than I”?
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
One must not cling to long-held religious traditions if they contradict the Scriptures. Our beliefs must rest solidly on the teachings of the Holy Bible. We know that Yahweh’s Word is truth and is profitable for instruction in righteousness.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of Elohim is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Messiah YahwehShua. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of Yahweh, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of Yahweh may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
We must worship Yahweh in spirit and truth, because the truth will set us free!
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 Yahweh is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 8:31 Then said Yah’shua to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If we don’t want to follow truth, then the Scriptures are very clear about what happens to those who refuse to follow truth.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to Yahweh: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Do you want truth or the lies of men’s traditions?
