Yahweh’s Supreme Love – Reconciliation
The question we will explore in this article is what happens to unrepentant man at the end of the ages?
- Eternal torture?
- Eternal death or non-existence?
- Eternal mercy and love?
Eternal torture?
Eternal torture is probably the most common answer you will get from mainstream Christianity. Over and over in the Scriptures, the Word of Yahweh tells us that unrepentant man will be sent to the lake of fire, furnace of fire, or outer darkness, where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Elohim; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Matthew 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world (165-aion); and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world (165-aion). 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world (165-aion): the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
And not only will unrepentant man be cast in the Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness but most translated English Bibles seem to indicate that this punishment is an eternal state. But let us take a closer look. Remember that our English Bibles are translations from the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament and there is translator bias. This is one of many examples of translator bias in our English Bibles. For more on this topic of translator bias, please read “Why we should make changes to our English Bibles”.
Matthew 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Sovereign, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting (166-aionios) punishment: but the righteous into life eternal (166-aionios).
2 Thessalonians 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with Yahweh to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Sovereign YahwehShua shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not Yahweh, and that obey not the evangel of our Sovereign YahwehShua Messiah: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting (166-aionios) destruction from the presence of Sovereign, and from the glory of his power;
Jude 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever (165-aion).
Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal (165-aion) damnation:
Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of Yahweh, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever (165-aion) and ever (165-aion): and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
165 aion {ahee-ohn’} • from the same as 104; TDNT – 1:197,31; n m • AV – ever 71, world 38, never + 3364 + 1519 + 3588 6, evermore 4, age 2, eternal 2, misc 5; 128 • 1) for ever, an unbroken age, perpetuity of time, eternity 2) the worlds, universe 3) period of time, age
The Greek word “aion” and adjective form “aionios” have multiple meanings. These Greek words in the above Scriptures are translated “forever”, “everlasting”, and “eternal”. But what is interesting is these Greek words are also translated in other Scriptures as “age(s)” and “world”. Both “age(s)” and “world” are not eternal, which brings up the topic of translator bias. Below are two Scriptures translating the Greek word “aion” “age(s)”, implying a period of time.
Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages (165-aion) to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Messiah YahwehShua.
Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages (165-aion) and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom Yahweh would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory:
We also see these Greek words “aion” and “aionios” translated “world”. Again, if we believe that these Greek words “aion” and “aionios” mean eternal, how can they be translated “world” when we know this world is passing away and not eternal?
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of Yahweh abideth for ever.
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Plus there is another Greek word used for “world”, kosmos (2889). So maybe “world” is not the best translation of these Greek words “aion” and “aionios”. A better translation for these Greek words in some instances would be “age” or “ages” like in Ephesians 2:7 and Colossians 1:26. But even if we use “age” or “ages” as a better way to translate these Greek words we still have the problem that “aion” and its adjective form “aionios” at times in the Scripture cannot mean eternal.
Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world (165-aion), neither in the world to come.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which Yahweh, that cannot lie, promised before the world (166-aionios) began;
Hebrews 1:1 Yahweh, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds (165-aion);
1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of Yahweh in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which Yahweh ordained before the world (165-aion) unto our glory:
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world (165-aion) are come.
So if we assume that these Greek words “aion” and “aionios” always means “eternal” then we would translate the preceding Scriptures as: “neither in this eternity, neither in the eternity to come”, “promised before eternity began”, “by whom also he made eternity”, “before eternity unto our glory”, and “upon whom the ends of eternity are come”. So clearly we find that these Greek words “aion” and its adjective form “aionios” sometimes don’t mean eternity and we may have translator bias when it comes to “eternal punishment”.
The reason for the translator bias is that translators, who are mere carnal men, could not begin to imagine the love and mercy Yahweh will give to all His creation. More on this later.
Anther problem we see with the translation of the Greek word “aion” and aionios” to “forever”, “everlasting”, or “eternity” is when “aion” and “aionios” describe events with an end. Did you ever wonder why the Scriptures say something is forever and ever, yet it isn’t? And how can there be an ever after forever? This is nonsense.
Jude 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal (166-aionios) fire.
Genesis 19:24 Then Yahweh rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Yahweh out of heaven; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. 26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. 27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before Yahweh: 28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace. 29 And it came to pass, when Elohim destroyed the cities of the plain, that Elohim remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
Philemon 1:10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: 11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me: 12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels: 13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the evangel: 14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. 15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever (166-aionios);
We know that Sodom and Gomorrha were destroyed by fire and that there are no ruins that remain on fire today. And if we honestly look at what Paul is asking Philemon to do, it is clearly not to take Onesimus back as a brother in his personal residence forever, but for a period of time.
We also see the same problem in the Old Testament where events that were supposed to be forever were not. The Hebrew word “olam” has equivalent meaning to the Greek word “aion”.
Genesis 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever (5769-olam).
Genesis 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting (5769-olam) possession; and I will be their Elohim.
Exodus 40:13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office. 14 And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: 15 And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting (5769-olam) priesthood throughout their generations.
If we take these Scriptures literally, we know that the seed of Abraham has not always retained possession of the land of Cannan. We also know that Aaron and his son’s priesthood came to an end with the death, burial and resurrection of Messiah and the change in the priesthood. Therefore “olam” is mistranslated, just like its Greek counterpart “aion”. Again, we have translator bias.
Since we are reviewing Scriptures in the Old Testament, we see nowhere in the Hebrew Scriptures (i.e. Old Testament) a doctrine of everlasting punishment. Selah (i.e. think about it).
We also have translation problems with the Greek double construct of “aion”, typically translated “forever and ever”. The first problem we have already discussed is how can you have an ever after forever? Again, it is nonsense. The second problem we have is based on the precise Greek language. It uses three different meanings of the double construction of “aion”.
Singular/singular – ex. Hebrews 1:8
Singular/plural – ex. Ephesians 3:21
Plural/Plural – ex. 1 Peter 4:11
Therefore if translated correctly with the English words forever and ever, Ephesians 3:21 should read forever and evers and 1 Peter 4:11 should read forevers and evers. Again this is nonsense. Using “age” or “ages”, which are a period of time, makes more sense. Ephesians 3:21 would read for the age of the ages and 1 Peter would read for the ages of the ages. As a side note, the Greek and Hebrew languages have several expressions which are constructed similarly to the double construct of the word “aion”. “King of kings”, Sovereign of sovereigns”, and “Holy of holies” are three examples that come to mind.
Did you know that our English word “eon” comes directly from the Greek word “aion”? Our English word “eon” does come in a plural form just like the Greek word “aion”. And we know that the English word “eon” describes a period of time or “age” and is not eternal.
We already read in Titus 1:2 that Yahweh cannot lie. We also know that Yahweh is not the author of confusion.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For Yahweh is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all assembly of the saints.
So what on earth is going on? We have “aion” and “aionios” being translated “forever”, “everlasting”, and “eternal” when describing events with an end. We have these Greek words translated “ages(s)”, which is a period of time. We also have these Greek words translated “world”, which we know is passing away and not eternal. Lastly, we know that Yahweh cannot lie and is not the author of confusion. So how should we translate “aion” and “aionios”?
A simple solution to this confusing use of the Greek words “aion” and “aionios” are as follows. Yahweh and His Lamb are eternal. Believers in this age will be eternal (i.e. immortal) when we are glorified at Messiah’s second coming (1). We also know that the New Heavens and Earth are eternal. Therefore, when using these Greek words to describe Yahweh and His Lamb or believers in this age that will be eternal (i.e. immortal), or the New Heavens and Earth, then translating “aion” and “aionios” “forever”, “everlasting” or “eternal” makes sense. Yahweh and His Lamb are immortal (i.e. eternal) and outside of time. We know that Yahweh sees the end from the beginning at once.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and Elohim requireth that which is past.
Isaiah 42:8 I am Yahweh: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. 9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
And Yahweh knew all His works before the foundation of the world.
Acts 15:18 Known unto Yahweh are all his works from the beginning of the world (165-aion).
1 Peters 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world (2889-kosmos), but was manifest in these last times for you,
John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world (2889-kosmos).
Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world (2889-kosmos), that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
2889 kosmos {kos’-mos} • probably from the base of 2865; TDNT – 3:868,459; n m • AV – world 186, adorning 1; 187 • 1) an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government 2) ornament, decoration, adornment, i.e. the arrangement of the stars, ‘the heavenly hosts’, as the ornament of the heavens. 1 Pet. 3:3 3) the world, the universe 4) the circle of the earth, the earth …
On the flip side, when using these Greek words, “aion” and “aionios” to describe man or an event, something that is not immortal/eternal, a better translation would be “age” or “ages”. Man is not “immortal” (1). The Scriptures state that “only Yahweh hath immortality” (1 Timothy 6:16). Man exists in the realm of time (i.e. ages). He lives and he dies and returns to the dust.
Before you discount this simple explanation on how to translate “aion” and “aionios”, you are advised to note the following Scriptures which help delineate the truth on this difficult topic.
We have already touched on the fact that the existing heaven and earth are passing away and will be replaced by a New Heavens and Earth.
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world (2889–kosmos) passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of Yahweh abideth for ever.
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of Yahweh will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and righteousness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of Yahweh, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
So if there is an eternal place of torture, it has to be in the New Heavens and Earth. But Second Peter goes on to state that in the New Heavens and Earth righteousness will dwell. So how could there be any evidence of sin (i.e. eternal place of torture) in the New Heavens and Earth?
Then we read in the following Scriptures that there will be no more sorrow, crying or pain in the New Heavens and Earth. So how do you reconcile the New Heavens and Earth having a place of eternal punishment where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, when no one will hear the voice of crying and weeping? And in Isaiah 65 it clearly states that the former life will no longer be remembered or come to mind. Again, why would there be any remembrance of sin and punishment in the New Heavens and Earth?
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from Yahweh out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of Yahweh is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and Yahweh himself shall be with them, and be their Elohim. 4 And Yahweh shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Isaiah 65:16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the Elohim of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the Elohim of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Let us return to Revelation 14:11, which many use to justify the doctrine of eternal torture for the un-repentant.
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever (165-aion) and ever (165-aion): and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
This passage talks about having no rest day or night. But Scriptures tells us that there is no need for the sun or moon to shine because the glory of Elohim illuminates the New Heavens and Earth. So this Scripture cannot be talking about the New Heavens and Earth. This Scripture describes the Lake of Fire, where those who worship the beast and his image in this age will go for temporary punishment. This is temporary because the New Heavens and Earth come after the punishment of the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for Yahweh El Shaddai and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of Elohim did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Isaiah 60:19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Yahweh shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy Elohim thy glory. 20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for Yahweh shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. 21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
Lastly, we have all read the following passage:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Yahweh is eternal life through YahwehShua Messiah our Sovereign.
Read it slowly: the wages of sin is death….not eternal torture! And the prophet Ezekiel confirms this concept.
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
The Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness punishes the wicked “souls” who becomes ashes under believers’ feet. The wicked “souls” die. There is no such thing as an “immortal soul” that goes to hell to be tortured forever and ever (1).
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Yahweh of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Have you ever wondered why the lake of fire is called the second death? It is because no mortal man could survive being in a lake of fire!
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
To teach that Yahweh will punish eternally for deeds committed by a person whose life spans today averages less then 75-years is not consistent with the character of Yahweh who is rich in mercy and great in love. More on Yahweh’s character later in this article.
Ephesians 2:4 But Elohim, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us
Is it loving and merciful to torture man forever and ever who (1) did not ask to be born into this world, (2) can be totally blind to his own sin, (3) is tempted and deceived by Satan and his dominion, and (4) has a body or carnal nature that is contrary to Yahweh’s law?
And what about those folks during the history of mankind, who lived in a time or place (ex. South Pacific island 800 CE), that had no Bibles or knew nothing about a Savior and the Elohim of the Scriptures? Would the Mighty One of the Scriptures torture these people day and night forever and ever?
Lastly, does teaching that unrepentant man will suffer for all eternity cause fear? You bet it does. Is it Yahweh’s desire to cause fear?
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
For many it is easier to scare people into obedience than to inspire them to obey Yahweh’s Word. Sadly, many are guilty of using the doctrine of eternal torture to scare people into subjection to the enemy. This is one of Satan’s lies, that Yahweh is not capable of reconciling His creation by showing mercy and love.
Yahweh’s Word is clear that He does not desire to create fear in anybody. The Almighty doesn’t want people to worship Him out of fear. Fear controls people. Fear is the opposite of faith. Interestingly the “fearful” are the first listed among the kinds of people that will have their part in the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Eternal death or non-existence?
Yahweh’s Word is clear that there is no eternal place of torture where the unrepentant go. Unrepentant man is temporarily punished in the Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness, where mortal man (1) dies. The Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness is not permanent. With the New Heavens and Earth, Yahweh proclaims that He “makes all things new”, that “the former things have passed away”, that “the former shall not be remembered or come into mind”, and that He “shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain”.
So is Yahweh’s final solution for unrepentant mankind eternal death or non-existence?
Luke 20:38 For he is not a Elohim of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
John 6:32 Then Yah’shua said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of Elohim is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world (2889-kosmos).
John 3:17 For Yahweh sent not his Son into the world (2889-kosmos) to condemn the world (2889-kosmos); but that the world (2889-kosmos) through him might be saved.
2 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living Elohim, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 11 These things command and teach.
Based on these few Scriptures, it sure does not sound like Yahweh’s final solution for mankind, whether believers or non-believers, is death or non-existence. Luke states that all live unto him. Read it slowly…all, not some or those who believe. Paul’s letter to Timothy confirms that the living Elohim is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. Lastly, John confirms this by saying that Messiah came down from Heaven to give life to the world. Again not just for believers.
And not only has Messiah given life to all by His faith, He has abolished death!
2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour YahwehShua Messiah, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the evangel:
Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
And we see that death and the grave (#86-hades, translated hell but better translated grave) are destroyed in the Lake of Fire. How can death and the grave hold anyone if they are destroyed first? Plus the destruction of death and the grave occurs prior to John seeing the new Heavens and Earth!
Revelation 20:14 And death and grave (#86 hades) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death…..21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
In fact by Messiah’s death, burial, and resurrection, Yahweh has destroyed Satan’s power over death. If you believe that Yahweh’s final solution is death for the unrepentant, then you really don’t believe that Yahweh has defeated Satan!
Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Yahweh was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to Yahweh, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
The clear fact is that we are saved by Messiah’s faith, even when we were dead in sins (Ephesians 2:5). By grace (undeserved pardon) we receive Yahweh’s free gift of life. The gift of eternal life is free. Therefore there is nothing we need to do to receive that gift. Although Yahweh’s final plan is life, those who obey Yahweh’s commandments culminating in love in this age shall be Priests and Kings with Messiah on earth for 1,000 years and shall have the right to enter the gates of New Jerusalem in the New Heavens and Earth where Yahweh and the Lamb reside.
While outside the gates of New Jerusalem are the unrepentant. Remember in the New Heavens and Earth there will be no more sin, death, sorrow, crying, or pain. Later we will go into greater detail on the difference between those who have been sealed by the Holy Spirit through obedience and are saved “IN” YahwehShua verses those that are unrepentant and reconciled through the faith of YahwehShua.
Ephesians 2:4 But Elohim, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Messiah, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Messiah YahwehShua: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Messiah YahwehShua. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Yahweh: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Messiah risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Messiah the firstfruits; afterward they that are Messiah’s at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to Yahweh, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he [The Son] must reign, till he [The Father] hath put all enemies under his [The Son’s] feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
It becomes clear that Yahweh’s grand plan culminates in life triumphing over death and mercy and love triumphing over judgment. Yahweh is victorious over the Devil, who had power over sin and death. This was accomplished by Messiah, when He (1) emptied Himself of His glory to come down to earth as a man, (2) suffered and was persecuted for righteousness sake, (3) shed His blood on the beam as the perfect sacrifice for all of mankind’s sins, (4) became the propitiation for the worlds’ sins, and (5) rose the third day from the grave to be the firstfruit of the resurrection.
Think about this. In the New Heavens and Earth there is no death and sin. So where there can be no death and sin, there can only be life.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Sovereign Elohim, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell (7585-sheol or better translated the grave) shall not stand;
So far it is clear that there is no eternal place of torture where the unrepentant go. Unrepentant man is punished in the temporary (i.e. age abiding) Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness, where mortal man (1) dies. We also know that death for the unrepentant is not Yahweh’s final solution. This question on what happens to unrepentant man at the end of the ages can get confusing. Let us continue to look at Yahweh’s Word.
Eternal mercy and love?
Before we explore whether Yahweh’s final plan is mercy and love by reconciling unrepentant man through life without sorrow, crying, and pain in the New Heavens and Earth, let us start with Yahweh’s character. We know that Yahweh is merciful. This is abundantly clear as we read the Scriptures.
Hosea 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my Elohim.
Psalm 86:15 But thou, O Sovereign, art a Elohim full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Psalm 100:5 For Yahweh is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 106:1 Praise ye Yahweh. O give thanks unto Yahweh; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of Yahweh; that Yahweh is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
Psalm 117:1 O praise Yahweh, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. 2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of Yahweh endureth for ever. Praise ye Yahweh.
Psalm 118:1 O give thanks unto Yahweh; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Psalm 130:7 Let Israel hope in Yahweh: for with Yahweh there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
And not only is mercy a major character trait of Yahweh, the Almighty is slow to anger.
Psalm 103:8 Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psalm 145:8 Yahweh is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9 Yahweh is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
And not only is Yahweh merciful and slow to anger, His anger does not last forever.
Micah 7:18 Who is a Elohim like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Psalm 103:8 Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Jeremiah 3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith Yahweh; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith Yahweh, and I will not keep anger for ever.
Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
So if Yahweh is merciful and His anger does not last forever, how can we reconcile these Scriptures with man’s teaching of eternal torture or eternal non-existence for unrepentant man? It is clear man’s character of vengeance has been put above Yahweh’s character of love and mercy by people that subscribe to the doctrine of eternal punishment or eternal non-existence.
And not only is Yahweh merciful whose anger does not last forever, Yahweh is Love!
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of Yahweh; and every one that loveth is born of Yahweh, and knoweth Yahweh. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not Yahweh; for Yahweh is love.
Ephesians 2:4 But Yahweh, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Messiah, (by grace ye are saved;)
And Yahweh’s law and all Yahweh’s prophets culminate in the concept of love. Love Yahweh with all your heart, soul, and mind and love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Yah’shua said unto him, Thou shalt love Yahweh thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Yah’shua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; Yahweh our Elohim is one Yahweh: 30 And thou shalt love Yahweh thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
The greatest commandment to love Yahweh is not a feeling, but an action to obey Him.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments…….21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him…. 23 Yah’shua answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of Yahweh, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2 John 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth Yahweh thy Elohim require of thee, but to fear Yahweh thy Elohim, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh thy Elohim with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13 To keep the commandments of Yahweh, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of Yahweh perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Yahweh is love. Yahweh’s law and all of Yahweh’s prophets culminate in love. And we know that to love Yahweh we need to obey Him. Based on Yahweh’s definition of love we need to meditate on the following Scriptures. These Scriptures tell us we are supposed to love our enemies so we can be children of the Most High, to be perfect even as the Father is perfect, and to love mercy as our Father loves mercy.
Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Yahweh require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Elohim?
Yahweh states that we are supposed to love our enemies if we want to be like Him. Do you think Yahweh would tell His children to do one thing and then Himself does something totally different? Is torturing someone for eternity or consigning someone to non-existence, who was unrepentant during say a life of 75 years, loving our enemies? Does Yahweh lie?
Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of Yahweh, and an apostle of YahwehShua Messiah, according to the faith of Yahweh’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after righteousness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which Yahweh, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
It is clear that Yahweh is a merciful and loving Mighty Ones. And we know that Yahweh and His lamb character do not change.
Hebrews 13:8 YahwehShua Messiah the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Malachi 3:6 For I am Yahweh, I change not;
After meditating on these Scriptures on Yahweh’s character and how He wants us to act, it is clear that the Most High would not torture His unrepentant children forever nor consign them to non-existence. In the end, Yahweh’s great mercy and love triumphs over judgment in the age-abiding Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness.
James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
We also know that Yahweh is all-powerful. So if He wants to reconcile His creation, including the unrepentant, He can and He has!
Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Sovereign Elohim! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
Matthew 19:26 But Yah’shua beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with Yahweh all things are possible. (Also see Mark 10:27 and Luke 18:27)
We have read a lot of Scriptures that clearly show that unrepentant man at the end of the ages is neither tortured nor relegated to non-existence for eternity. We also know that Yahweh’s character would not allow it and that He has the power to reconcile His creation without sorrow, crying, and pain, including unrepentant man.
So how will Yahweh reconcile His creation? Let us start with Yahweh’s perfect sacrifice, Messiah. We know that the perfect sacrifice of Messiah was for all sin that will ever be. Messiah’s sacrifice is for the entire world, not just believers.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, YahwehShua Messiah the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world (2889-kosmos)
1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity (love) shall cover the multitude of sins.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Yah’shua coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of Yahweh, which taketh away the sin of the world (2889-kosmos).
And not only was Messiah’s perfect sacrifice for all sin, Messiah bore all sin (i.e. iniquity) and became sin!
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Yahweh hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of Yahweh in him.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Because Messiah bore all sin (i.e. iniquity), He became a curse and took on all the curses written in the book for us. He was the propitiation or substitution (1 John 2:2) for our sins.
Galatians 3:13 Messiah hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Deuteronomy 21:22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: 23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of Elohim;) that thy land be not defiled, which Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee for an inheritance.
Deuteronomy 29:20 Yahweh will not spare him, but then the anger of Yahweh and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and Yahweh shall blot out his name from under heaven. 21 And Yahweh shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of YahwehShua our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one El, and one mediator between Yahweh and men, the man Messiah Yah’shua; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Yahweh blotted out our sins by putting them on the perfect unblemished (i.e. sinless) sacrifice. Yahweh did this for His own sake, not ours and to properly reflect His character of mercy and love.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
It is by Messiah’s sacrifice that all of mankind is justified (i.e. just as if we had never sinned). Justification has nothing to do with our faith. Justification was accomplished by Messiah’s faith.
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of YahwehShua Messiah, even we have believed in YahwehShua Messiah, that we might be justified by the faith of Messiah, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If Yahweh be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of Yahweh’s elect? It is Yahweh that justifieth.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of Yahweh; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Messiah YahwehShua:
Romans 5:8 But Yahweh commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him
Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
It is clear that Yahweh’s character consists of mercy and love and that His anger does not last forever. Yahweh is all-powerful and if He wants to reconcile His unrepentant creation by giving all life without sorrow, crying, and pain, He can. We know that Yahweh, through His lamb, provided the perfect unblemished sacrifice for the sins of mankind. And that through this sacrifice, Yahweh removed all sin from His creation. Since sin was removed from His creation, Abba Yahweh is able to reconcile His creation in the New Heavens and Earth, including those who are unrepentant.
In the New Heavens and Earth, there will be no more sin. And because there is no sin, there will be no death. And because there is no sin, mankind is able to be with Yahweh and His lamb. So Yahweh’s plan for the ages is to reconcile mankind in the New Heaven’s and Earth where he makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his stake, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of YAHWEH, who hath reconciled us to himself by YahwehShua Messiah, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To with, that YAHWEH was in Messiah, reconciling the world (2889-kosmos) to himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
Acts 3:20 And he shall send YahwehShua Messiah, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which Yahweh hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to Yahweh by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Romans 11:15 For if the casting away of them (Israel) be the reconciling of the world (2889-kosmos), what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Romans 11:32 For Yahweh hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of Yahweh! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
John 12:30 Yah’shua answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
It is interesting to note that the same Greek word for draw (helkuo) is also used when the disciples were trying to “draw” a great net full of fish onboard their boat (John 21:6). So just like a fisherman drawing nets full of fish, Yah’shua said He will draw to Himself all men.
It is clear from the above Scriptures that the world was reconciled prior to any condition of repentance (Romans 5:10). Reconciliation is a free gift of Yahweh. There is nothing we need to do to earn this free gift. It is by grace (underserved pardon) that we are saved.
Therefore reconciliation shows the unconditional love and mercy of Abba Yahweh and Messiah. But there is a catch. Those who are unrepentant do not receive “salvation”, that is the reward of becoming the bride of Messiah in New Jerusalem and carry the stigma of being unrepentant, banned from entering Yahweh and the Lamb’s presence in New Jerusalem for eternity.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city (i.e. New Jerusalem). 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it (i.e. New Jerusalem) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy (i.e. New) Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from Elohim,
The unrepentant who are outside the gates of New Jerusalem are the same ones who were previously destroyed in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:4). They are reconciled (i.e. given life) but are not allowed to enter through the gates of New Jerusalem where Yahweh and the Lamb reside. As a side note, Revelation 21:9- 22:5 goes into great detail about New Jerusalem, so entering into the gates is talking about New Jerusalem.
The key is understanding that the unrepentant were not saved “IN” YahwehShua, that is sealed by the Holy Spirit and having the Spirit of Messiah formed in them, but reconciled through His death burial and resurrection. Thus Yahweh has fulfilled His promise of reconciling the world through Messiah.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the evangel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Messiah, and hath anointed us, is Yahweh; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of Yahweh, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Galatians 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Messiah be formed in you,
Being saved “IN” YahwehShua involves repentance and obedience, the “better resurrection” (Hebrews 11:35). The “better resurrection” includes living and reigning with Messiah for 1,000 years on earth, receiving power and glory, and being royalty in Yahweh’s house in New Jerusalem (i.e. being able to enter the gates). Being saved “IN” YahwehShua is equivalent to receiving salvation.
Reconciliation of the unrepentant means living eternally without pain, sorrow, or death in the New Heavens and Earth outside of New Jerusalem. Those outside the gates who were unrepentant do not receive the reward of inheritance.
Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to Yahweh, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of Yahweh ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Sovereign Messiah.
Ephesians 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Messiah. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the evangel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. 15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Sovereign Messiah, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the Yahweh of our Sovereign YahwehShua Messiah, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Sovereign unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of Yahweh; 11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to Yahweh, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto Yahweh, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Those who do not receive Yahweh’s reward of inheritance do not receive all that the Father has. See the parable of the prodigal son: Luke 15:11-32. The unrepentant also don’t receive life (Greek “zoe”) as Yahweh and the Lamb has in the New Heavens and Earth.
Luke 15:31 And he said unto him, Son (the one who never transgressed the fathers commandments), thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. 32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life (2222-zoe); and he that hath not the Son of Yahweh hath not life (2222-zoe).
Therefore all mankind receive “grace”, the undeserved bestowing of the free gift of life by the faith of YahwehShua. Those who obey Yahweh’s Word through repentance and obedience by faith in YahwehShua earn the reward of inheritance becoming the Bride of Messiah. That is they receive salvation. Repentance and obedience is a change in one’s behavior and heart. Thus it is a work through faith.
James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one Elohim; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
So how will Yahweh reconcile the unrepentant at the end of the ages? Yahweh will reconcile the unrepentant by resurrecting them from the dead after they have been destroyed by the Lake of Fire/Furnace of Fire/Outer Darkness.
Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
2 Corinthian 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
Romans 8:20 For the creature (creation) was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature (creation) itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of Elohim.
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Yahweh; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and Yahweh Elohim will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for Yahweh hath spoken it.
Did you ever wonder when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Yahweh(Shua) is Sovereign? There is an excellent chance this happens in the New Heavens and Earth, when all of mankind ever created will be present.
Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am Elohim, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall one say, in Yahweh have I righteousness and strength:
Philippians 2:9 Wherefore Yahweh also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of YahwehShua every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that YahwehShua Messiah is Sovereign, to the glory of Yahweh the Father.
Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith Yahweh, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to Elohim.
Also, Scriptures are clear that all flesh will see Yahweh’s salvation and that all nations whom the Almighty has made will worship Him!
Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
Luke 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of Yahweh.
Psalm 86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Yahweh; and shall glorify thy name.
We have already read in the above Scriptures that there will be a day when every tongue will confess YahwehShua as Sovereign. So based on Romans 10:9, will not everyone be saved and be given life in the New Heavens and Earth? Selah (i.e. think about it).
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Sovereign YahwehShua, and shalt believe in thine heart that Yahweh hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
And think about this. The dead cannot praise Yahweh but the living can!
Isaiah 38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. 19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
Psalm 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
Psalm 38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
We conclude that through Yahweh’s great plan of the ages, life triumphs over death, mercy and love triumph over judgment, and Yahweh’s love reigns supreme!
