When will Messiah Return?
As the article Signposts of Messiah’s Return indicates, although we do not currently know the day and time of Messiah’s return, this does not mean a true saint will not at some point know when our Savior will return to Earth. Our knowledge of when Messiah will return occurs as we pass through the many signposts outlined in the article.
Both 1 Thessalonians 5:4 and Revelation 3:2 tell us that if we remain diligent in obeying the Sovereign, watching, and praying, the second coming will not be a surprise to us. Selah (i.e. think about it). So instead of trying to figure out today the date and time of Messiah’s return, saints need to watch current events and stay close to Abba Yahweh and again that day and time of Messiah’s return will not be a surprise.
And although in may seem like Messiah’s Second Coming is far off, we know that our world can change in a blink of an eye due to the many cataclysmic events that could befall us:
- Comets or Asteroids hitting the Earth
- Super Volcano erupting
- Accelerated global warming causing sea levels to rise rapidly and triggering severe weather events
- Rapid spread of a deadly contagion disease
- World War III including nuclear war among the nations
- Runaway artificial intelligence that instead of helping humanity tries to destroy humanity.
- Catastrophic power grid failure.
- Cyber war that renders computers unusable.
- Global food shortages due to all the above, which cause mass unrest and war.
Although we do not know the exact day or time of His return currently, it appears we are close in time. Here are a couple of thoughts on why we are close to Messiah’s return.
The first reason we are close to Messiah’s return is based on numbers. We know that Man’s number is 6 and Yahweh’s number is 7. Using the Holy Scriptures, Bishop James Ussher’s puts the creation date of mankind at 4,004 BCE, Johannes Kepler at 3,992, and Sir Isaac Newton at ~ 4,000. Adding six thousand years for man gets us to the seventh thousand year of Messiah’s righteous kingdom on Earth (Revelations 20:6-7). Mankind has been around 6,000 years, which shows we are right in the window of His return to establish His 1,000-year kingdom on Earth.
Messiah’s 1,000-year kingdom (starting in the 7,000 year) is a time of rest, is tied to the weekly Sabbath (7th day), and is prophesied in the Book of Hebrews. Over in over in the Old Testament, Yahweh tells us that six days you work (6,000 years of man) but on the seventh day (7,000 year for 1,000 years of Messiah’s rule) is the Sabbath of Yahweh and that you shall do no work. It is a day or 1,000-years of rest!
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahweh thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahweh blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Hebrews 4:8 For if Yah’shua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest (Greek word Sabbatismos that should be translated as Sabbath) to the people of Yahweh. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as Elohim did from his.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of Yahweh; 20 And he shall send YahwehShua Messiah, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which Yahweh hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
A quick discussion of the Hebrew word “yowm” that is translated day in the Scriptures. We must understand that sometimes Hebrew words can have many meanings although they are translated into one English word. At other times Hebrew words have a more precise meaning compared to the translated English word. In other words (no pun intended), we should not assume the translation to English is correct. That is why we must go back to the original language. Let us look at the Hebrew word “yowm”
3117 yowm {yome} • from an unused root meaning to be hot; TWOT – 852; n m • AV – day 2008, time 64, chronicles + 01697 37, daily 32, ever 17, year 14, continually 10, when 10, as 10, while 8, full 8 always 4, whole 4, alway 4, misc 44; 2274 • 1) day, time, year 1a) day (as opposed to night) 1b) day (24 hour period) 1b1) as defined by evening and morning in Genesis 1 1b2) as a division of time 1b2a) a working day, a day’s journey 1c) days, lifetime (pl.) 1d) time, period (general) 1e) year 1f) temporal references 1f1) today 1f2) yesterday 1f3) tomorrow
Based on the above definition, the Hebrew word “yowm” translated “day” has multiple meanings. It can be translated for the daylight part of the day. It can be translated as the 24-hour day. Lastly, it can be translated as a period of time.
And as we investigate, we notice that many Scriptures that use the Hebrew word “yowm” as a period of time. This period of time could be part of a day, a day, a week, a year, 1,000 years, or just a period of time. Let us review some Scriptures.
Isaiah 34:8 For it is the day of Yahweh’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Numbers 14:34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
Ezekiel 4:6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with Yahweh as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Therefore when we look at numbers, the 7th Day Sabbath, this day of rest, could also symbolically represent the Millennial Kingdom, a 1,000-year rest after the 6,000 years of man.
Second reason we are close to Messiah’s return is based on the 70-week prophecy of Daniel 9. This prophecy may be a dual prophecy for both the First Coming of Messiah to be the suffering servant that would shed His blood for mankind and His Second Coming, when He will be King of Kings.
Daniel 9:22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks (#7620) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (#7620) , and threescore and two weeks (#7620) : the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks (#7620) shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (#7620): and in the midst of the week (#7620) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
A few comments on this prophetic passage in Daniel. First this prophecy is about Messiah and His first coming:
- To finish the transgression (vs 24)
- To make end of sins (vs 24)
- To make reconciliation for iniquity (vs 24)
- To bring in everlasting righteousness (vs 24)
- To anoint the Most High (vs 24)
The Hebrew word “shabuwa” translated as “weeks” also has a basic meaning of “seven”, whether it be weeks, years or just a period of seven. And it seems clear that this prophecy should have read 70 “seven” year cycles or 490 years instead of the 70 “seven” week cycles.
7620 shabuwa` {shaw-boo’-ah} or shabua` {shaw-boo’-ah} also (fem.) sh@bu`ah {sheb-oo-aw’} • properly, pass part of 07650 as a denom. of 07651; TWOT – 2318d; n m • AV – week 19, seven 1; 20 • 1) seven, period of seven (days or years), heptad, week 1a) period of seven days, a week 1a1) Feast of Weeks 1b) heptad, seven (of years)
The start of this prophecy in Daniel is from the command to rebuild Jerusalem. And as we read in Nehemiah, we find Artaxerxes in his 20th year making the command to rebuild Jerusalem. Historically we find this year was more than likely 457 BCE.
Nehemiah 2:1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. 2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid, 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? 4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the Elohim of heaven. 5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it. 6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. 7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my Elohim upon me.
First seven weeks (49 years) in the prophecy of Daniel 9 represents the restoring of Jerusalem, including the Temple (408 BCE) . The next 62 weeks (434 years) in the prophecy represents the time up until when Messiah starts his ministry at age 30 (Tabernacles CE 27). And in the middle of the last week (7 years), Messiah is crucified (Passover CE 31) causing the sacrifices and oblations to cease. As a side note, this last period of “seven” also has another layer of prophecy for a 7-day week, in that Messiah died on Wednesday, which is the middle of the week.
Let us look at the potential second dual prophecy from Daniel 9. This one involves a bit more speculation, but non-the-less very interesting. Verses 26 and 27 in Daniel 9 allude to the end of this age when the prince to come (Satan indwelt Beast/False Prophet) shall confirm a covenant for one period of “seven” (7-years). Then in the middle of the week, this prince shall bring an end to the sacrifices and offerings. So not only does Daniel 9 prophesy Messiah’s First Coming, it may also prophesy His Second Coming.
2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Sovereign Yahwehshua Messiah, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Messiah is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called Elohim, or that is worshipped; so that he as Elohim sitteth in the temple of Elohim, shewing himself that he is Elohim.
And this prophecy about Messiah’s Second Coming is also tied to the 70 “shabuwa” or “seven”. But instead of the Hebrew word “shabuwa” being translated “weeks” or re-translated as Seven Year (Sabbath to rest the land), it could be translated “seven” times “seven” years, or a 49-year (7 X 7) Jubilee cycle. And we know that the count of the Seven Year Sabbath to rest the land and Jubilees started when the Israelites came into the promised land. Not before!
Leviticus 25:1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto Yahweh. 3 Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; 4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for Yahweh: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
8 And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. 9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. 10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. 11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
So before we move on there needs to be a brief discussion on if the Jubilee year (50th year) is the first year of a repeating 49-year (7 X 7) cycle or a repeating 50-year cycle. Because of the repeating nature of 7 for the weekly Sabbath, 7-year cycle of the Sabbath Year to rest the land, it makes sense that the Jubilee is a 49-year (7 X 7) repeating cycle with the 50th year starting the first year of the next 49-year cycle.
Yahweh’s number is seven and we find in the Scriptures various “seven” clocks tied to special times of the Almighty. The following time chart shows seven clocks that Yahweh specially designed for His purposes. The first clock started when man was created and the seventh clock will end with the New Heavens and Earth. Let us take a look at the various clocks tied to “seven” or “shabuwa” of Yahweh.
- 7 Days 7 Days Weekly Sabbath Rest on the 7th Day
- 7 X 7 Days 49 Days Pentecost +1 Pentecost 50th Day
- 7 Years 7 Years Yearly Sabbath Rest Land on the 7th Year
- 7 X 7 Years 49 Years Jubilee +1 Jubilee 50th Year
- 7 70 Years 490 Years Messiah is crucified 1st coming of Messiah
- 7 X 7 70 Years 3,430 Years Messiah returns +1 Second coming of Messiah
- 7 1,000 Years 7,000 Years New Heavens/Earth Kingdom of the Father
The Jubilee is a year of release from bondage. So when did Israel enter the promised land so we can start the count of Jubilee years (Leviticus 25:2)? Just like the dates for the creation of man, we also have many dates tied to the Israelites entering the promised land, Cannan. Bishop James Ussher puts the Israelites entering the promised land at 1451 BCE. But many other Bible experts put the date around 1400.
Let us do some more investigating when Israel entered the promised land. The periods of the kings has been well established in the Scriptures. Pairing this information with archaeological discoveries supports an approximate 1400 BCE date. The archaeological findings along with the Bible chronology puts the date for the start of the construction of Solomon’s temple anywhere between 955-975 BCE. Construction per the Scriptures started the second month of the fourth year of Solomon’s reign and construction was completed in the eighth month of Solomon’s Eleventh year. Right at 7 ½ years.
And if you overlay 1 Kings 6 (see below), it becomes simple math: 480 years earlier than 955-975 BCE brings us to an Exodus date of circa 1435-1455 BCE. Subtract 40-years of the sojourn in the wilderness (Joshua 5:6) and that brings us to an entry into Cannon around 1395-1415 BCE. This range is right on target with the expert’s range of around 1400 BCE.
1 Kings 6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yahweh
38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
It is interesting to note that Messiah began His ministry (27 CE) most likely during a Jubilee year when He proclaimed in the below passage in Luke “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing”. Why a Jubilee year? Because this fulfillment of the prophecy referenced a year to heal the brokenhearted, to preach the deliverance to the captives, recover sight to the blind, and to set at liberty them that are bruised, which looks like a Jubilee year. The Jubilee year in ancient Israel was meant to be a year of liberty, freedom, a release from bondage…..a year of renewal!
Luke 4:16 And he (Yah’shua) came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of Yahweh is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the evangel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of Yahweh. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Messiah was quoting from the prophecy in Isaiah 61, which again appears to be describing a Jubilee year.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Yahweh is upon me; because Yahweh hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of Yahweh, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim; to comfort all that mourn
And it makes sense that when we re-read Acts 3:19-21, the “times of refreshing” and the time of “restoring everything” would logically occur on a Jubilee year. Therefore, when YahwehShua returns to be King of Kings and sets up His earthly kingdom for 1,000 years, it would be on a Jubilee year.
Based on everything we just covered, below is a potential time-line of Messiah’s Second Coming based on the interpretation of Daniel 9 dual prophecy.
1436 BCE Exodus Begins
1396 BCE Israelites enter the promise land
1346 BCE 1st Jubilee
23 BCE 27 more Jubilees (49 X 27 = 1323). Total of 28 Jubilees
27 CE 29th Jubilee. Messiah starts His ministry at age 30 (Luke 4:16-21)
For the count there is no year 0
2036 CE 41 remaining Jubilee (41 X 49 = 2009)
Total of 70 Jubilee and the return of YahwehShua Messiah
It appears we are very close to the Second Coming of YahwehShua Messiah and the establishment of His 1,000-year kingdom on Earth. Although we do not currently know the exact day and time of Messiah’s return, this does not mean a true saint will not at some point know when our Savior will return to Earth. Our knowledge of when Messiah will return occurs as we pass through the many signposts outlined in the article Signposts of Messiah’s Return.
Conditions on Earth for a dramatic change on how we live our lives are real. As saints, we must watch diligently for all the signposts of His return and stay close to Abba Yahweh by keeping His commandments and Messiah’s Second Coming will not be a surprise.
HalleluYah

Addendum A – Signposts of Messiah’s Return Intro
Many times during my life while attending various churches, I heard over and over that Christ could return any second and that we need to be ready. The preachers at those churches made it seem like nothing needed to happen before Messiah (Hebrew for the Greek Christ) could return. As a I studied the Scriptures, it has become crystal clear that the second part of the preachers message, that we need to be ready, was true. But the first part that Messiah could return any time and that nothing needed to occur before His return was not Scriptural.
Why many believe that Messiah could return anytime has to do with their belief in the pre-tribulation “rapture” doctrine. This doctrine contains a “secret” return of Messiah to take away His saints before the Scriptural seven-year tribulation. But a detailed study of the Scriptures guided by the Holy Spirit showed that this doctrine is false and saints that are alive will have to endure the seven-year tribulation. And that the “rapture” or sometimes referred to in the Scriptures as the “catching up” of saints does not occur until Messiah Second Coming, which is after the seven-year tribulation. For more information on this important topic, please read “The Gathering of the Saints”.
So as we read the Scriptures, especially about the seven-year tribulation and the Second Coming of Messiah, what we find is that there are still many events that must occur before our Savior returns! What this article will explore is all the major events or “Signposts” that must occur before the Second Coming of Messiah and the catching up of both saints that are still alive and those that are in the grave.
It is interesting to note that those saints who died before Messiah’s Second Coming are not in Heaven, but are in the grave. Again, a detailed study of the Scriptures guided by the Holy Spirit showed that man does not currently have an immortal soul and does not go directly to Heaven or to the Lake of Fire (i.e. Hell) after he or she dies. For more information on this important topic, please read “Does Man have an Immortal Soul?”.
So before we start looking at all the major events or Signposts that must occur before Messiah’s Second Coming, there is another interesting comment that I heard over and over from preachers of churches I attended pertaining to Messiah’s return. What I heard over and over is that no one knows the day and time when Messiah will return. Again, coupled with Messiah could return at any time, and the preachers had a powerful message…unfortunately not all of it is true.
Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Sovereign, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of Yahweh so cometh as a thief in the night.
So based on these Scriptures are we 100% sure no one will ever know the exact time of the return of our Savior? And of course to support this idea that no one knows when YahwehShua (resurrected name of our Savior) Messiah will return we have had over the last two thousand years many sincere folks believing in a specific date of Messiah’s return that have been dead wrong.
But let us think about this a little deeper. The fact we do not know the day today does not mean we will not know the day as we pass the many Signposts pointing to our Savior’s return. In fact, Yah’shua (name of Messiah while a man on earth) told the Pharisees that we should be able to “read the sky”. That is to see the signs that His return is imminent. Over and over in the Scriptures Yahweh has revealed what will happen, why it will happen and what the final outcome will be to those true saints that study and obey His teachings. This includes the Second Coming of Christ!
Matthew 16:1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Today we do not know the exact date when Messiah will return. Yet we are told in Matthew, Mark, and Luke to watch and pray about the return of our Savior. Yah’shua used the word “watch” to let us know that we need to be alert and discern the conditions of the world around us. Just like He told us that we are able to “read the sky” for weather, saints need to watch and pray so we understand where we are with the end of this age and the return of YahwehShua Messiah!
In Scriptures, there is the parable of the fig tree. Just like being able to discern the sky for coming weather, a fig tree has clear signs that will let its viewer know that summer is near. This is another example that we can use spiritual signs to determine when Messiah’s Second Coming is near. Therefore a true saint needs to understand current events, understand Yahweh’s spiritual Signposts, and how current events and Yahweh’s Signpost tie into His plan of this age.
Mark 13:28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
Luke 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of Yahweh is nigh at hand.
Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign Yahweh will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
In fact, as we get closer to the return of YahwehShua Messiah that day of His return will not overtake us. Again we see the word “watch” in Apostle Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians. Those that are watching current world events, studying the Scriptures, and praying will not be shocked when our Savior returns. If we do these things, we will know when Messiah’s return is imminent and may even know that exact day. More on this later!
1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Revelation 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before Elohim. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
The above verse in Revelation is implying that the ones who watch, YahwehShua will not come as a thief in the night. And this verse also implies that a true saint who watches will know the hour of our Saviors return. This matches up with 1 Thessalonians 5:4 that tells us the day Messiah returns to earth will not overtake us a thief. As a side note the English word hour in the above verse is translated from the Greek word “hora”, meaning any definite time, point of time, or moment. And lastly, we see in Daniel’s end time prophesy that even though the words are sealed up till “the time of the end” the wise, the ones that obey YahwehShua and his words, the ones who watch, shall understand their meaning.
Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
