WHY NOT CHRISTIANITY?
The core beliefs of many mainstream Christian denominations directly contradict the true doctrines taught by the Holy Scriptures. The following article outlines those contradictions and shows true doctrines based on Scriptures, referring the Bible student to articles explaining these doctrines.
Mainstream Christian belief: “Once saved always saved.”
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: A Holy Spirit-filled believer can fall away (i.e. quench the Holy Spirit) and must endure to the end in order to spend eternity with Yahweh and the Lamb inside the gates of New Jerusalem.

Mainstream Christian belief: Water baptism is not necessary for salvation.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Water baptism is an essential part of the salvation plan. It remits the convert’s sin and prepares him/her for the infilling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
Article: “Does a believer need to be baptized for salvation?”
Mainstream Christian belief: Christmas and Easter are celebrated as Holy Days and dedicated to the Almighty even though they have pagan origins, are not mandated by the Scriptures, and are full of lies.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: True believers should not celebrate Christmas and Easter because they are not commanded by Scripture, are full of lies, and are pagan in origin. Instead true believers should obey Yahweh by keeping His Holy Days detailed in Leviticus 23, including the weekly Sabbath.

Mainstream Christian belief: “Jesus” was born on December 25th.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Yah’shua was born most likely during the Feast of Tabernacles, which is in the fall, usually in October.

Mainstream Christian belief: “Jesus” was buried Friday at sunset and rose Sunday morning.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Yah’shua was buried Wednesday at sunset and rose Saturday at sunset. Yah’shua was in the grave three days and three nights, as prophesied by Messiah and recorded in Matthew.

Mainstream Christian belief: Messiah was nailed to a cross on a barren hill.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Messiah was nailed to a beam and hung on a living tree in a garden.
Article: “Passover and Easter”
Mainstream Christian belief: There is no need to observe Yahweh’s Holy Days per Leviticus 23 because “Jesus” “fulfilled them”, which Christians equate with making the Holy Days obsolete.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Yahweh’s Holy Days are to be observed, reflect the plan of salvation and the plan of the ages, and will not be obsolete until the New Heavens and Earth.

Mainstream Christian belief: The Seventh-Day Sabbath became obsolete after Christ’s resurrection because He “fulfilled” it.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The Fourth Commandment instructs us to keep the Seventh-Day Sabbath which Yahweh instituted at the creation of the world (Genesis 2:2-3). Yahweh’s Seventh-Day Sabbath will be kept until the New Heavens and Earth.

Mainstream Christian belief: It is required to believe doctrine taught by religious leaders and man-made traditions even if it is not 100% truthful.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: We must worship the Almighty in Spirit and Truth. Also, the Bible teaches that “no lie is of the truth”. This means that even one lie in a body of doctrine necessitates rejecting the entire doctrine.
Article: “Should you hold fast to the traditions of your religious organization?”
Mainstream Christian belief: Religious leaders and organizations will lead you into all truth and righteousness.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Instead of religious leader, the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit will lead one into all truth and righteousness through the Word of Yahweh.

Mainstream Christian belief: It is acceptable to break the Almighty’s Commandments and practice lies because “He knows my heart”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: It is not acceptable to break Yahweh’s Commandments and practice lies. Yahweh tells us that man’s heart is “deceitfully wicked”.
Article: “..but he knows my heart”
Mainstream Christian belief: “Jesus” was fair-skinned, very attractive, and had long hair.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Messiah was darker-skinned, not very attractive, and had short hair.
Although there are no direct Scriptures refuting that Messiah was fair-skinned, common sense tells us that there are no fair-skinned people living in the Middle East because of the proximity to the equator. Messiah must have been darker-skinned. Also, Messiah was not very attractive. Per Scriptures, there was no splendor or beauty in His appearance.
Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of Yahweh revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Lastly, Messiah had short hair, since long hair was considered a covering and the covering from long hair was for women only. Long hair for men was prohibited unless one was under a Nazarite vow. There is nothing in the Scriptures showing that Messiah was under a Nazarite vow.
1 Corinthians 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
Numbers 6:1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto Yahweh: 3 He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. 4 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. 5 All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto Yahweh, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
Mainstream Christian belief: It is acceptable to use pictures or statues of Christ and crosses in worship.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Based on the Second Commandment, pictures, statues, and crosses are graven images and are unacceptable to Yahweh.
As we previously discussed, the mainstream Christian image of Messiah is inaccurate. Also Messiah was nailed to a beam and hung a living tree, not a cross. And even if Messiah’s image and the cross were accurate, the Scriptures clearly state that we are not to make and worship any graven image of anything that is in heaven or earth, male or female.
Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yahweh thy Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Deuteronomy 4:15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that Yahweh spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: 16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
Mainstream Christian belief: The Law has been fulfilled by “Jesus”. Therefore the Law is no longer needed.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The Law has been confirmed by Messiah, is spiritual, and will not be done away with until the New Heavens and Earth.
Article: “How do you know that you are sinning?”
Mainstream Christian belief: All English Bibles are the inspired word of “God”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: English Bibles are translations of copied manuscripts of the Old Testament (Hebrew) and New Testament (Greek) and contain translator bias. The original Scriptures are the inspired Word of Yahweh.
Article: “Why we should make changes to our English Bibles”
Mainstream Christian belief: The Almighty’s personal name is “God” and his sons name is “Jesus”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The Almighty’s correct name is “Yahweh”. To distinguish between the Father and the Son, Yahweh the Father and Yahweh Messiah or YahwehShua (Yahweh is Salvation) should be used. Messiah’s name while a man on this earth was Yah’shua.

Mainstream Christian belief: The name of salvation is “Jesus Christ”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The name of salvation is “Yahweh(Shua)”. There is only one name that is excellent, exalted, above every name, and by which we must be saved.

Mainstream Christian belief: The Lake of Fire (i.e. Hell) is forever.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The Lake of Fire is for a finite age and is not in the New Heavens and Earth.

Mainstream Christian belief: Only saved Christians will be reconciled to “God” and everyone else will suffer eternal separation from “God” in hell.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: All things in Heaven and Earth are reconciled to Yahweh.

Mainstream Christian belief: The human soul is immortal.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: We know that the human soul is not immortal because “this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15). This means that at a future time Yahweh will give all mortal souls immortality. But at this current time we are mortal and can die.
Article: “When will Believers be Glorified?”
Mainstream Christian belief: There is no understanding or teaching that the Almighty who was seen and heard in the Old Testament was Messiah.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: It is understood that the Dabar (”Word of” or “Spokesman of”) Yahweh, the Yahweh who was seen and heard in the Old Testament, was Messiah.
Article: “The Great Riddle – What is the Son’s glorified name?”
Mainstream Christian belief: Some Christians believe that the church is only a building or denomination.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The assembly is the body of believers with Yahweh(Shua) as the head.
Article: “The Body of Messiah”
Mainstream Christian belief: The Almighty is a Trinity (one being, three “persons” who are co-equal).
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The Almighty is not one being, nor co-equal persons, and consists of Yahweh the Father, Yahweh the Son, and believers when they are resurrected to glory. The Holy Spirit is the power of Yahweh Mighty Ones (Father and Son) and not a person at all.
Article: “Yahweh Elohim = Trinity?”
Mainstream Christian belief: Believers who die go immediately to “heaven” and those who die without Messiah go immediately to an eternal “hell”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Believers in this age will not receive their promise of glorification until Messiah’s Second Coming and the rest of the dead will not be resurrected until the 1,000-year reign of Messiah on earth is finished.
Article: “When will Believers be Glorified?”
Mainstream Christian belief: There is no concept of the Last Great Day between Christ’s 1,000-year reign on earth and the New Heavens and Earth.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The Last Great Day occurs after the 1,000-year reign of Messiah when the rest of the dead are resurrected to physical flesh-and-blood life and the Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh-and-blood.
Article: “The Last Great Day”
Mainstream Christian belief: The final judgment day is at the end of this age at the Second Coming of Christ.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The final judgment day is at the end of the Last Great Day and before the New Heavens and Earth. The final judgment of the house of Yahweh (i.e. current believers) starts during this age and concludes at the end of this age.
Article: “The Last Great Day”
Mainstream Christian belief: There is no need to keep clean and unclean food laws in Leviticus 11 because Messiah has fulfilled the law.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Yahweh commands us to keep His food laws in Leviticus 11 and to understand that the food laws help us distinguish between the clean and unclean and holy and unholy.
Article: “What’s for Dinner?”
Mainstream Christian belief: There is not enough importance put on the marriage covenant. There are plenty of studies showing that the Christian divorce rate is slightly better than the general population.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The marriage covenant, which is a vow, is very important to Yahweh.
Article: “The Marriage Covenants”
Mainstream Christian belief: There is too much focus on baby “Jesus” and crucified “Jesus”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: The focus should be on Yahweh(Shua) sitting at the right hand (i.e. power) of Yahweh the Father, that He has been given judgment over man, and that He is coming in the clouds with power and glory for all to see.
Do you ever wonder why the biggest Christian celebrations of Messiah are his birth and crucifixion? In both these celebrations, Messiah is portrayed as tiny, weak, and harmless. The visualization of Messiah as tiny, weak and harmless is continuously pressed into our heads. Do you think that Satan would like us to focus on baby or crucified Messiah instead of the powerful Savior who currently sits at the right hand of the Father? Or that He is coming in the clouds with power and glory to judge the world? Or that the first thing He does when he returns is to make war?
Matthew 26:64 Yah’shua saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Mainstream Christian belief: Christians unknowingly minimize Satan and his tremendous powers and deception.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Satan is the “god of this world”, “deceives the whole world”, and “the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one”, including adherents of all the world’s major religions. Satan succeeds in having most of the world worship him through various lies and deceptions.

Mainstream Christian belief: In some denominations, women may teach the Word under their own authority and in other denominations; women are muzzled and not allowed to speak in the church.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: It is not acceptable for women to have teaching authority of the Word and it is not acceptable to muzzle all women in the assembly. Women may teach and speak under proper authority, whether it is under the authority of elders or a husband.

Mainstream Christian belief: Many Christian denominations allow unrepentant homosexuals to be part of the church, hold head positions or key teaching roles, and marry homosexual partners.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Yahweh considers homosexuality to be an abomination. Unrepentant homosexuals are not permitted to be members of an assembly.
How can this topic be controversial? The Scriptures are abundantly clear in both the Old Testament and New Testament that homosexuality is a sin.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Romans 1:24 Wherefore Elohim also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of Yahweh into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause Yahweh gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
1 Timothy 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the unrighteous and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind (733), for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Yahweh? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind (733),

And the Scriptures make it clear that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Genesis 2:21 And Yahweh Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which Yahweh Elohim had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore Yahweh hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mainstream Christian belief: Christianity distances itself from anything that is “Jewish”.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: We are spiritually Jewish like our Savior. Yah’shua was a Jewish rabbi from the tribe of Judah who kept the Seventh-Day Sabbath and the Holy Days detailed in Leviticus 23.
Article: “Spiritually Jewish like my Savior”
Mainstream Christian belief: Christians believe that “Jesus” was fully “God” on this earth.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Yah’shua, the name of Messiah after he emptied Himself of glory to come to earth as a man, although fully Yahweh in character and purpose on this earth, was not fully Yahweh.
Article: “Was Yah’shua fully Yahweh on this Earth?”
Mainstream Christian belief: Our faith, defined as only a mental belief, saves us.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Messiah’s faith saves us. Without Messiah’s faith, no one would be saved. Our faith with works (i.e. obeying Yahweh’s commandments) gives us the reward of Yahweh’s inheritance, the right to be First-Born, the right to be the bride of Messiah, and the right to enter the city (i.e. New Jerusalem) by the gates. Faith without works is dead (James).

Mainstream Christian belief: Most Christian denominations do not practice the laying on of hands by the elders after water baptism to receive the Holy Spirit.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Laying on of hands by the elders after water baptism is key to receiving the Holy Spirit.
Article: “Laying on of Hands”
Mainstream Christian belief: There are some denominations which focus on a prosperity doctrine and exclude the need for believers to suffer.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: Believers will suffer just as Messiah suffered on this earth. The suffering has a purpose which is to mold us into Messiah’s image. And lastly, wealth is fine but we must make sure we are storing up treasures in Heaven, not on this earth.
Article: “Will believer’s Suffer? And “Wealth and Money”
Mainstream Christian belief: Believers alive in this age will be “raptured” to safety in heaven either seven years or three and half years before Messiah’s return and not have to endure the Great Tribulation.
True doctrine taught by the Scriptures: It is clear that the timing of events in Scriptures is a tribulation period, followed by the Second Coming of Messiah at which time He will gather all His saints to be with Him as He establishes His kingdom on Earth. Saints that are alive at the time of the Great Tribulation, will have to endure this horrific period of time.
